Diversity is a result, inclusion is a choice. Faculties of economics are often cited as low-diversity environments exhibiting gender-based discrimination.
Hear how Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (BGSE) academics experience gender inclusion and what they view as necessary to improve gender diversity.
Panelists will be invited to share their views on the current state of gender inclusion and the challenges it poses to (aspiring) academics. The debate will also expand on managerial level initiatives as well as day to day actions of all participants that can help decrease gender-based discrimination. The audience attending this event will get the chance to ask questions to the panelists during a Q&A session. We also encourage the audience to share their thoughts and questions during the event via social media using the hashtag #WiEcare.
The event will be moderated by Iakov Frizis (Econ ’18): Chief editor at the Women in Economics Initiative and senior economist at PwC, Public Sector Practice.
Christian Brownlees: Associate Professor at UPF and BGSE
Claudia Meza (Econ ’18): PhD student at GPEFM (UPF and BGSE)
Libertad González: Associate Professor at UPF and BGSE
Marta Morazzoni (Econ ’18): PhD student at GPEFM (UPF and BGSE)
