Despite the economic, organisational, and societal benefits associated with more gender diverse environments, inclusion remains a challenge for institutions and corporations internationally. In this online panel discussion, we’ll hear from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics (BGSE) alumni about their professional experiences of gender inequality and their views on why many workplaces still have such uninspired responses.
Panelists will be invited to share their experiences on the current state of gender inclusion and their views as to what impedes gender equality at the workplace: a) institutional gender-based discrimination; b) unconscious biases/stereotypes; or c) that gender inequality is simply not recognised as an issue. The online audience will have the chance to ask questions live during a Q&A session, and to share their thoughts and questions throughout the event via social media using the hashtag #WiEcare.
The event will be moderated by Diana Loayza, a current BGSE student enrolled in the Master in Economics of Public Policy.
Joining her on the panel are:
- Carola Ebert (Macro ’16), manager at BearingPoint,
- Hannah Pfarr (Macro ’16), supervision analyst at the European Central Bank,
- Silvia Albrizio (Econ ’09), economist at the Banco de España, and
- Tessy Vasquez (Econ ’11), technical coordinator for the Financial Stability and Development Network at the Inter-American Development Bank.
